WheelUP & Abacus embark on an orchestral odyssey for "Infinity”

“Infinity” is the new collab from producer, DJ and bruk revivalist WheelUP aka West London’s Danny Wheeler and the alter ego of Harry Bryson from drum & bass duo Pola & Bryson under his Abacus moniker. The ethereal new single “Infinity” sees the duo embark on an electronic-orchestral odyssey that pushes the song into another realm, evoking the futuristic sounds of early 4Hero on Talkin’ Loud and late 90s Jungle (LTJ Bukem, Adam F, Peshay, Goldie).

Delving into the concept and spiritual elements of the single, Danny explains: “The idea of Infinity is relating to the transcendental aspect of space and time, how we experience time as linear but music exists in another realm, an auditory experience we experience as here and now.”

The duo became acquainted through the drum and bass world, before flipping the script and transcending their worlds of music, moving onto broken beat and nu-jazz. Their first collab “Rise Above” formed part of WheelUP’s acclaimed debut album ‘Good Love’ and was played out by giants in the game A-Trak (Fools Gold/Kanye West) and Dave 1 (Chromeo).

“Infinity” follows a collection of collaborative releases from the West London producer, such as the colossus bruk-bass riddim “Copacetic” with More Times co-founder Sam Interface, and “More Love feat. Brint Story” linking with the legendary broken beat don Kaidi Tatham. The singles have seen support flood in from the likes of DJ Mag, Jamz Supernova (BBC 6Music), Gilles Peterson (Worldwide FM), Jaguar (BBC Radio 1), Beatport and many more.
